Refreshed

18 Oct

I’ve just spent a few days at the coast, and despite an uncomfortable bed and a bad throat I’m back with a spring in my step.  The kids had a great time and moaning was kept to a minimum, which always helps, and the weather, while different everyday was really good for this time of year.

I came back to the usual bundle of mail (although so much is electronic that you don’t quite get the bundle you used to).  In it though was an acceptance letter for one of my short stories “Day of Rest.” Hooray.  It will be published in Scribble magazine in the near future.  The way Scribble works is that everyone who subscribes gets to vote on their favourite pieces and the top three get cash.    Out of everything I’ve written “Day of Rest” takes me far away from me, so it’s good to know that I can write convincingly in a totally different voice.

I make nice frocks and write average poetry. And there's a bit of embroidery and the occasional rant.
