More Snow

12 Dec

We finally got to meet again yesterday after a 2 week lay off due to snow. We have lost one of the group – due to other pressures in his life and then there were 8.  It was great to have some face to face chat again as Facebook discussion boards only go so far and we all felt like it was much more of a slog, with posts getting all out of sync.

I’m full of the cold now, but glad to be back working again today as it’s been tricky trying to get near the pc with the kids off school with the bad weather and husband working from home.

Have started working through my book from the beginning again, trying to take on board all the things I’ve learned at the course, so my story isn’t progressing any, and my word count is going backwards as I remove notes to myself.

Still happy with progress though.  Don’t think I’ll meet my self-imposed deadline of first draft by Christmas, but I’m working differently now.  So I still think I’ll have a fairly well finished novel by the end of the course in March as I’m re-drafting as I go more than I was initially.

Who knows what the right way to do things is, but this is working for now.  Life getting ever busier in the run up to the holidays but I’ll do what I can in the next couple of weeks, then 2 weeks off and fresh eyes when I come back.

I make nice frocks and write average poetry. And there's a bit of embroidery and the occasional rant.
