Now what was I going to say?

9 Jan

I’ve always thought that it was best not to follow the advice that you often read that you should leave a notepad beside your bed – how on earth would I ever get to sleep.  But the other night I’d a key thought just as I was drifting off about my novel.  zzzzz  Some hours later I woke and thought ‘what was that thought? Yes, that’s it I’ll write it down as soon as I get up.’  zzzzz  Now all I can remember was that I had a thought that was the most relevant thought that would bring the whole novel together as a cohesive whole.

So either I’ll need to hope that the thought flitters by again, or content myself that the novel will be a big incohesive mess (well, hopefully not that incohesive).  And so to bed.

Happens to me all the time, and I always tell myself that a notebook by the bed would be an excellent idea. However, my bedside table is still notebook-less…

I actually remembered what it was again last night, and decided that it wasn’t really as good an idea as I’d initially thought. Ironically it was about dreams.
