Anxiety Dreams and Waking Up

21 Mar

Apologies for gap in blogging, but I’ve been doing work that actually pays for the last couple of weeks, so my writing time has been a bit squashed.

I had a very vivid and horrible dream last night regarding my last ever submission to the Faber Academy (although our group is going to live on under another guise).  Nobody has ever been driven to tears in the group (at least not while we’re there), but in my dream I was weeping and screaming (oh dear) at the criticism.

Luckily, I woke up to a magazine Scribble which had published my story ‘Day of Rest’ in its last edition.  While I didn’t win one of the prizes (which the readers vote for), I did receive loads of great comments (and lots of votes) about my story in the feedback page.  Not wanting to brag but I think I might have to get ‘A really brilliant thought provoking tale’ and ‘an excellent writer’ framed and put on the ceiling above my bed for the next nightmare.  If nothing else it might fall on my head and knock some sense into me.
