Beautiful Morning – Jonestown

29 Apr

Even as the darkness shrouded his face she thought he was the most handsome man she had ever seen. ‘You’ve a good profile,’ she said, feeling bolder than she ever had in her whole life.

‘You have a pretty face,’ he said in reply.

She saw his smile as the sun began to rise, illuminating his features. ‘I think I could spend the rest of my life with you.’

‘I think so too.’ He held out his hand, took hers in his, they kissed as though the world would end and as the dawn broke they drank down their grape juice just as Mr Jones required.

I make nice frocks and write average poetry. And there's a bit of embroidery and the occasional rant.
