New Year – New Books

2 Jan

At the start of last year I created a ‘Read in 15’ shelf on my book case. It looked like this:

Now it looks like this:

Bookshelf 31/12/15

Feel free to play spot the difference – although this doesn’t give a full profile of my reading as there were additions along the way and some ebooks. I did manage to read 22 books this year – according to Goodreads.com just missing my challenge of 24 books. What my challenge hasn’t taken into account either, is all the reading I’ve done for my writers’ group – about 20k words a month, and the reading and re-reading of my own book to proof-read.

No matter how far she runs, Meg can never escape the past.

Within the next couple of days I’ll re-arrange my bookcase and create my shelf for the new year. I like having a limited choice of books to go to next, although my book group lead me to other titles, as did a tendency to break my own rules.

As for writing challenges, well they remain the same – to do as much as I can, when I can, and keep going.

I like the designated shelf. I have my books scattered about the house at the moment. I think I’ll gather them up and admire the reading I have ahead.
